Refusing To Take Up Your Cross

113

Jesus calls sinners, "take up your cross and follow me." What does this mean? Further, not only only does Jesus command you to take up your cross, and deny yourself and follow Him, He also gives promises, incentives and explanations of the command.

In these verses, we also discover a critical truth about personhood - you have an everlasting soul. We learn that your soul only exists in two conditions or states. The soul can be either saved or lost. Is my soul lost? What are the conditions that determine if my soul is lost? And what are the consequences of a soul lost or a soul saved. How do we know if our soul is lost or not. It depends on how that man thinks and lives. There are two ways to think. This is a critical section of Mark for understanding what redemption means for your soul. It all rests on what you do with the cross of Christ.
