Supporting the Struggler

"Sweetness upon the lips increase learning..." (Proverbs 16:21)

For dullness, dryness nor distastefulness are never the objectives of any wise, kind and passionate teacher.

Sweet treats will fatten us up. C'mon... pleasant and rich things, like cakes, pies and banana puddings, have a way with expanding our physical girth, especially, when we enjoy them immensely.

Pleasantly communicated truths will grow the the souls of those who hunger for the truth. When rich and pleasant truths are upon the lips of a wise and thoughtful teacher, it too has a way of expanding our spiritual girth and increasing our appetite for more grace and knowledge. Especially, when that rich sweetness is rightly applied and unashamedly appreciated.

Immense pleasure for sweet eats and sweet expositions of the truth has a way of increasing more than just our belt length... it will increase our learning in the things that matter most.

Jesus said His Father taught Him HOW to speak a word in season, which implies He also gave Him WHAT to say. Knowing WHAT to say, is only part of the process... we MUST know HOW to say it, to be more effective in our teaching. Help us Lord? Use us, as one of Your tools, to fatten and strengthen the hearts and souls of Your people, with Your rich truth, that they will want more and more of You.

May we learn from the Master on HOW to communicate His truths, that we can be a vessel He uses to increase the learning of the weary and hungry souls He sends us to. (Isaiah 50:4-7)
