The Glories of the Doctrine of Election
Series The Book of Acts
159
Rightly understood, the doctrine of election is one of the most gracious, kind, loving and glorious doctrines in scripture. Yet it is so often misunderstood and is instead maligned, avoided and even considered a hateful doctrine by some.
In order to demonstrate the glories of the doctrine of election, we set out to answer the main complaints from the pages of the New Testament.
In this sermon we seek to dispel the following myths:
- The doctrine of election makes God unjust.
- The doctrine of election makes God unloving.
- The doctrine of election makes God's promises false.
- The doctrine of election drains the fuel from evangelism.
The opposite is in fact true in each of these statements, as the scriptures clearly confirm.
