Overcoming Sin

How important is it to God that we resist sin? Let me give you a command and a warning from the New Testament to help motivate us in our study. “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). Second, “But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy’” (1 Peter 1:15–16). How do we do this? Paul wrote we do it by knowing something, counting upon something, and doing something.
