A Sense of Identity & Purpose

Four things were nailed to the cross at Calvary. Jesus, the public announcement "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews, " the debt of our sins and YOU. If you are a true follower of Christ, then you were nailed to the cross too! I have been crucified with Christ. The believer is in union with Christ by faith. The only way to receive what Christ has for us is to be united to him by faith. We are in Christ. The doctrine of union with Christ is why the Christian is dead to the law. We were united to Christ in his crucifixion. As far as God is concerned, we were really and truly nailed to the cross with Christ. As a result, the true Christian enjoys a new identity, a noble purpose and a magnificent destiny!
