The Objective

Aiming... at the right place, with the right means, the right way, at the right time, normally works a 100% of the time. We usually hit the things that have our attention, affection and aim, regardless if the thing is good or bad.

Think about it... if we don't give our attention, affection and AIM to edify and build up the body of Christ, there's a 100% chance we will not hit what we should've been AIMING for the whole time.

The Charge and Its Aim

Paul told Timothy that the very AIM of the charge of all ministry is godly edification. The objective must be to rightly build on the right foundation. And this charge to build up His servants will be the fruit and overflow of love from a clean heart, a clear and cheerful conscience and courageous and confident faith. But some had swerved and shifted their focus away from this charge. In doing so, they placed their aim, affections and attention on things that generated more questions and problems rather than answers and solutions for edifying the saints to love and live like Jesus, through sound teaching, in agreement with His glorious gospel of redeeming grace.

I love, love, love the opening message. The objective found in 1 Timothy 1:5 is the purpose/aim/objective of all grace centered, gospel rooted, Spirit filled, Christ led and truth based gifting and guidance will be a HEAVEN BLESSED LOVE. A love that flows from a cleansed heart, a cheerful conscience and a confident, courageous and well calculated faith. Anything less than that falls short of the AIM and will only lead to a nasty, ugly and costly shipwreck.
