The Helplessness Of Humanity

The theme of this passage is how a man can be right with God through the righteousness of Christ. We need to get these verses right and get them into our hearts.

There are five headings for these verses

1. The setting
   The setting is the courtroom of heaven

2. The sovereign
   The sovereign is God. He is the judge. God will always act with proper justice.

3. The standard
   The standard is the law.

4. The verdict
   The verdict is either that of being guilty or innocent.

5. The statement
   The statement is by the deeds of the law no man can be justified. It is a statement of utter human hopelessness. We need to have a grasp of the proper use and understanding of the law of God. The law of God makes it clear that we need a Savior.
