Encouraging the Disciples - Testifying in the Spirit

Jesus had told His apostles that He was leaving but that He'd return in the person of the Spirit. This would initiate a radically new relationship between Him and them involving a new responsibility of fruitfulness. Sharing in His life by the Spirit, they were to bear the fruit of that union by testifying to Him - not merely by verbal witness, but by bearing His fragrance in the world.
