Exodus 37 - Family Builds the Nation

The Fifth Precept, Honor Father and Mother, is so much more than 21st century Western minds can understand. Our worldview limits our understanding of this precept so that it is trivialized to nothing more than coercing children into obeying parents. However, parents excuse themselves from obeying their father all the way up to the leader of their nation! Thus, ignoring the father they can see, they sin against the Father they cannot see.
