Theology Matters
Series Messages from Colossians
38
There was errant teaching floating around in the atmosphere that surrounded the Colossian church. Paul understood that “arguments” that were not ultimately in accordance with the gospel could nevertheless sound “plausible” and end up deluding the faithful. The best preventative was to have believers be assured that what they had come to know was what needed to be known. Strong, developed theology would keep them from slipping into error. To this end he struggled “to make the word of God fully known.”
Sound doctrine, solid theology, matters.
