There are no Recriminations with Christ

When the Lord Jesus faced his immediate crucifixion, He knew that He was dying for the sins of His people, and yet He loved us to the end.

There is in Christ's death for us not the first hint of remorse or resentment or blame toward us for His great suffering.

He never blamed His people as the cause of His death. He never threw it up into their faces, or reminded them that their sins put Him on the cross.

In other words, there are no recriminations with Christ.

This is in fulfillment of that type of the Lamb slain as a substitute. The Lord went to the cross without fanfare or histrionics or elaborate explanations. He simply went as a quiet lamb, and meekly took our guiltiness and shame upon Himself as if He were the guilty One.

God has promised to put away all remembrance of our sins. It is the promise of His New Covenant with His People. He is faithful to keep His covenent, so that we may boldly go into His glorious presence by the Blood of Christ without guilt or shame or dishonor, but a perfect Righteousness wrought by the Savior.

The Lord took our sins and made them His very own. He cannot reproach us for His death because He has borne all our reproaches.

Because He really meant it when He made Himself our substitute, there is no shame or guilt or reproach left in us whereby He might accuse us or resent us.

Truly, He loved us to the end!
