Jesus' Bodily Resurrection

Text: 1 Corinthians 15:22, Lord's Day 17

Not unlike ours today, the Apostle Paul faced a cynical and disbelieving culture when it came to the Christian doctrine of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Paul's defense of this truth and our Catechism's explanation of the personal benefits of this truth is the focus of our study this evening.

1. The Biblical foundation for Christ's Resurrection:
   a. An essential of the Christian faith.
   b. The exclamation point of God's redemptive plan.
   c. Provides purpose to our earthly existence.

2. The personal benefits from Christ's Resurrection:
   a. It puts death to death.
   b. It raises us to new life.
   c. It guarantees our own blessed resurrection.
