Times when church discipline is needed are usually shocking, messy, awful times in churches.
Even good Christians go to pieces sometimes when faced with the mess, and as in any disaster situation, it's essential to have people on hand who know the ABC's of how to respond in an emergency.
Thankfully we have Paul's clear instructions to the Corinthians, and in 1Cor. 5:3-13 we can learn 4 actions the church must take in response to obvious sin.
