Keep Them From the Evil One

Jesus' petition permits us to see HIs high regard for His disciples. He is at the point of leaving them. His heart is exposed. These are utterances of everlasting love. The intensity of His affection for the eleven and for those to follow appears in every line. He prayed for their oneness, their joy and now their protection from the evil one, Satan. He used the word "keep" or guard. From the first fall, Satan has been our enemy. This sure petition is our hope.
