Aim: To demonstrate our Christianity through submission to authority.
Exegesis: Civil obedience demonstrates our faith, in the sovereignty (v. 1), righteousness (v. 2), and goodness (v. 3) of God. Civil obedience demonstrates our devotion to the God of justice (v. 4), love (v. 5), and order (vv. 6-7).
Key verse: v. 1 ''Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.''
