Thine Are Mine

Jesus used the common word world in this chapter to speak of the created, the unredeemed and the redeemed world. Emphatically, Jesus declared His petition for the ones the holy and heavenly Father gave Him. In turn, He equally made this startling statement: I pray not for the world. These are the ones not given Him by the Father. Again, Jesus pivoted to affirm His petition as stated. They are the Father's by election and Jesus' by redemption.
