I Have Finished the Work

We see the Lord's fourth petition: glorify thou me with thine own self. That is a mysterious request. Only God fully understands. We know from verse four Christ the Son glorified the Father by His saving work on the earth. In verse five, Jesus added to the mystery, which I had with thee before the world was. We can say: the triune Godhead enjoyed eternal fellowship, dominion and love. Jesus looked to return to that most blessed state.
