All About the Blood

God's redeeming grace, found only in Jesus, flips what we believe, transforms our behavior and shifts who we bless.

Peter lays it out so vividly and with great clarity in chapter 4. He refers to how they, in days gone by, lived such a wasteful life in the past (dissipation). And now, that they no longer walk in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries, their old potty mouth friends will mock them for being "holier than thou, Jesus freaks" who no longer have any fun with them anymore.

Why no longer? Jesus changed their want to... and therefore, restructured their behavior patterns and the culture they once found life in is now death to them. But we recall what Paul teaches and reminds the church in Titus 3... what did he teach? That we needed to remember, in case we wanted to bash them, that we all lived foolish, unpersuaded and disobedient lives at one time. And the only difference between us then and now... and between us and them, is Jesus. That's right, the sweet interruption of King Jesus! So, don't speak evil of them... show them your King, unveil His rich and deep love, manifest His redeeming grace and don't think it's strange when they reject Him and you.
