Series History of the Church - Class
66 ( 62 | 4 )
The Church started the modern University, built from the foundation of the Cathedral School system. University of Paris is an example, founded as a Cathedral School in the 11th century.
The roots of the Reformation were fomenting even before Luther: the idea that the congregation is not an audience but are active participants and members in the service, the Bible should be translated into the local language, and the Word of God - the Bible - is the sole authority of the church.
Gene ends his talk with a summary of the first 1,500 years of the Church.
