vv3-4, Confidence of Christ (He trusted always in His heavenly Father & truth of God’s prophetic Word) Lk 23:46

vv5-6, Reading those passages as a young Man growing up, growing in an understanding of who He was and what He was to do, would have weakened the knees of the strongest of sinners; yet, Jesus trusted in His Father completely. He could sleep easy in a boat on Galilee, in the garden, or in Lazarus’ house.

v7, This is what we deserve apart from salvation through Jesus Christ.

v8, Yet, Christ was struck repeatedly in the face by His enemies, smitten of God by suffering God’s holy wrath for sins He did not commit. Mt 26:27; Isa 50:6; Rom 5:8-10
