Blasphemy of Biblical Proportions

Later this week (June 22nd), Universal Studio's will release the film “Evan Almighty” in theaters across the country. “Evan Almighty” (the sequel to the 2003 film “Bruce Almighty”) is purported to be a modern adaptation of the story of Noah. This version however has a ring of the current politically correct environmental twists. For instance, the flood in the movie occurs because of environmental issues. Also, I noted the following on the film's official web site “Buy a tree in the Almighty Forest as a $5 donation to the Conservation Fund and your name will be added to the Evan Almighty DVD!” Additionally, seeing the very positive revenues and reviews that “Bruce Almighty” received from many professing Evangelicals, the studio has launched a major marketing campaign to the professing Christian community. How should Christian interpret this movie mania? Should Christians be involved in partnering with the world to change the world? On today's “Calling For Truth” Radio Program we will discuss this and many other issues surrounding the release of this film and the marketing of it to the Christian community.
