When Satan strikes

Luke's tone changes as he enters the final movement of this drama. The moment is Passover; the plotters are the chief priests and scribes; the enemy makes himself known again, as Satan, the Adversary, operates upon the traitor, Judas; the scheme is simply and vile, the price is agreed, revealing the heart of those involved; the hunt is on. And the target, Jesus Christ? Without ignorance, without carelessness, without panic, he also prepares to lay down his life for his people. Amidst such wickedness and weakness of men, it is the strength of Christ which is our refuge.
