Man of Sorrows, Bearing Wrath

In the Garden, Jesus was dreading a two-fold burden of eternal weight -- the defilement of our sins and the punishment due to them. The wrath of God is inexpressible. It is no laughing matter. God is not a pushover. His wrath is the most terrible and horrifying thing in all creation. Jesus knew that well, and He utterly dreading being the subject of it.
