Where is Boasting?

Believers, If you were to die and go to heaven today, and someone asked you why God let you in, what would you say?
Will you be able to boast that you are there because you were good enough to obtain OR maintain your salvation?

Most of us agree that we cannot be saved by works. So we have no boast in our salvation. Still, If we can stand in heaven and say I maintained my salvation by my works. It was about me. That is boasting. That is beating our chest and saying we did it. That is salvation by works.
I had this debate once with a friend and to his credit in the end he said, “you are right, I believe in salvation is at least somewhat dependent on our works.” scary thing, but at least honest.

In heaven, What would you list as the things you did or avoided doing that gave you the right to be there?
Hear me on this. Think about it. Regardless of what people believe about initial salvation, if you think you will be able to stand in heaven and say, “I am here because I was good enough,” on any level, that is still salvation by works. That is still beating our chest and saying, “I did this.”

I would answer that question in heaven by saying, I am here because I was purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ, alone. No if’s or buts. I accepted His free gift of salvation through faith by His grace.

Quit boasting. Quit pretending you can be good enough. Quit putting your faith in your actions, right or wrong, in regard to salvation.

God wants us to be holy, and if your holiness is a result of an honest desire to please your Father in heaven.
