Gideon's army of 300 ready warriors is now set for the battle. But even though Gideon is a man of faith, and even though God had promised to deliver the Midianites into his hand, he still has some reservations.

Mercifully, God eases his mind by showing him how his fame has affected the men of the invading tribes guaranteeing Israel's victory.
