When God Picks the Scenery

From an earthly perspective, Paul’s imprisonment in Rome culminated a long run of bad luck: a riot, death threats, a shipwreck, foiled ministry plans. But from heaven’s perspective, God’s own plan for His church and its people was right on schedule. ”... the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel...” (Philippians 1:12 – NKJV) Our sovereign God can and often does advance the gospel through our unwanted circumstances. When we love Christ’s glory more than our own, we’ll serve as His ambassadors in whatever circumstances He allows us to experience.
