I. The preexistence of Christ

A. Christ's preexistence (John 1.1-2)(Genesis 1.1)(Psalm 33.9)(John 17.5)

B. Christ's deity. (The Shorter Catechism Q.6)(1 John 5.7)

C. Christ as the eternal Word (John 14.8)(John 14.9-11).

II. The omnipotence of Christ

Omnipotence is another word for limitless power.

A. The universe is a Divine creation. Evolution claims to be supported by science but its foundational presupposition is unscientific. (Genesis 1.3)(Psalm 33.8-9)(Hebrews 11.6).

B. The universe was created by the eternal Word (Matthew 14.21)(John 6.11)(John 1.14).

III. The life in Christ

(John 1.4-5).

A. In our fallen condition we are in darkness. (Genesis 1.3)(Romans 1.18-21)

B. Christ comes as light into our darkness (verse 5)(Matthew 11.5-6).
