A Wise Man Has Great Strength

Do not envy wicked men or desire to be with them. Sin yields death so we should not envy the wicked who are a few steps away from disaster. Wickedness always turns out the same and leads to destruction. Wisdom, understanding, and knowledge is what we should pursue. It is easy to stand for the right thing when no one else is pushing us to do wrong. The goal should be to put down strong roots so that when peer pressure and trials come, we follow Jesus. The Lord will repay each person for the work they will do. Just as honey is sweet to the taste, wisdom is sweet to the soul. Getting wisdom will change everything for us. If we find wisdom we will have a hope and a future. The righteous person will fall, but they will keep getting up. The wicked will be brought down, kept down, and destroyed. We are not to rejoice when our enemies fall, for the Lord will see and disapprove and turn away His wrath. We should not let our hearts rejoice when the fall. God, Who is rich in mercy, reached out to save us even while we were enemies to Him. God is the ultimate judge and what really matters is what He thinks. An honest answer is a blessing. Do not pay back people for the evil they do, that is the Lord's work. If we are lazy, we will never feel as though we have enough sleep and poverty will overtake us. God promises poverty to the lazy.
