A Famine of the Word

In America today, we are awash in Bibles. We have a multitude of translations. We have a multitude of Bibles in various packages, taylor made for every sub-group of the population. We have commentaries and spiritual books galore. Yet we still have a famine of the Word of God. The famine is in the preaching. Far too many ministers read the Word, but they don't preach it. The deluge of false prophets in the churches has led to a vacuum of biblical preaching to the heart, and the churches and nation are suffering for it. When Jesus said, 'Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God,' He wasn't kidding. We need the Word or else we die.
