Judges 2:6-3:6 teaches us that the LORD disciplines His people when they abandon Him in order to bring them back and compassionately delivers them when they turn to Him in repentance. God's promise remains, but no generation can live off the faithfulness of the preceding one. Each must embrace the LORD for themselves.
