Ephesians 4:13-16

It’s time for the Church to grow up!
Here’s how He grows us up…
He gives gifts to men (7-10)
He gives gifted men to the Church (11-13)
These gifted men equip the saints (12)
For the work of ministry (12)
For building up the body of Christ (12)
Here’s how long he grows us up….
Until we all attain (13)
To the unity (13)
Of the faith (13)
Of the knowledge of the Son of God (13)
To mature manhood (13)
To the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (13)
Here’s why He grows us up…
So that we may no longer by children (14)
Tossed to and fro by the waves (14)
Carried about (14)
By every wind of doctrine (14)
By human cunning (14)
By craftiness in deceitful schemes (14)
Here’s what growing up looks like….
We speak the truth in love (15)
We grow up in every way (15)
We grow up into Him who is the Head, into Christ (15)
From whom the whole body (16)
Joined and held together (16)
By every joint with which it is equipped (16)
When each part is working properly (16)
Makes the body grow (16)
So that it builds itself up in love (16)
Applications:
We must know the truth
We must apply the truth, speaking it in love
We must depend upon our Head, Jesus Christ Himself
We must grow up!
