II. Three points of personal purity applied to sexual matters:
1. Be abstinent from sexual
immorality (v3)
2. Be self-controlled and know how
to control you body (v4)
3. Be faithful and don't take
advantage or defraud others (v5)
4. Application:
a. Reminds us of our need for
the seventh commandment (see
Larger Catechism Q. 139)
b. Reminds us that sexual
immorality is not a
victim-less crime/sin
III. Three vital motives to follow the
three points of personal purity
1. There are consequences to our
actions (v6)
2. If you are not a sin denier,
then you are a sin indulger
(v7)
3. Your communion with Christ is
directly affected (v8)
