1 Corinthians 14:36-40

Our public worship must be edifying!
We must seek precedent in other New Testament churches (36)
We must obey apostolic command (37-38)

Prophecy “A New Testament prophecy is a divinely revealed message spontaneously received by and delivered through a spiritually gifted messenger in intelligible words, resulting in the edification, exhortation, and consolation of believers.”
Tongues “Tongues are divinely inspired utterances of prayer and praise to God which are under the speaker's control and not understandable to the speaker (and sometimes not to the hearers) without the aid of a spiritually gifted interpreter.” (BLT)
