Luke and the Apostolic Gospel
Series Exposition of Gospel of Luke
375
When the ancient reader picked up a scroll to read, he could only see the first sentence - so it had to count. In keeping with common Greek style, Luke's first sentence of his 2-volume work (Luke-Acts) explains the content of the scroll. This will be a work of history, theology & pastoral urgency. Luke writes the Spirit-inspired Scripture, relying upon other gospel accounts & the testimony of apostolic eye-witnesses. We have an accurate & trustworthy testimony which warrants us putting our faith in Jesus Christ.
