Study 20. Romaans - The Gospel of God

The final section of Romans begins with Paul urging his readers to "present their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God" – this is their spiritual act of worship. The remainder of the letter teaches us how this worship is practised– not so much in ceremony, but in civil life; not only in prayer and praise, but in practical living both in the church, and in the world. And this is all done in response to the mercies of God declared in the previous chapters of the letter. Here is 'the righteousness of God' at work, transforming, renewing, and shaping his beloved by his grace.
