The essence of God is that He is infinitely good. This is not true of us. Jeremiah pleaded with the people of his time: saying they "had a revolting and a rebellious heart". Hardly winsome words, yet accurate in God's view. Sadly, because of their sin The Lord had held back good things from the people. What good things does He hold from us if we refuse Him?
