Psalms 120 thru 134 are epigrams, each dealing with a single theme. These are identified as songs of ascent, most likely sung by pilgrims as they made the upward journey to Jerusalem (that city being an uphill journey from every compass point of approach). The theme of Psalms 120 - 124 is worldly trouble; of Psalms 125 - 129, faith; and Psalms 130 - 134, praising God.
