Lectures on Thomas Watson's The Art of Divine Contentment, Chapter 11 Pt. 5

124

We continue with our thirteenth lecture through our devotion based on Thomas Watson's book, The Art of Divine Contentment. Tonight's lesson concludes five weeks with chapter 11, "Divine Motives to Contentment". We looked at Watson's motives 8-13: 8) "Why is not a man content with the competency which he hath?"; 9) "The shortness of life"; 10) "Consider seriously the nature of a prosperous condition" (more trouble, more danger, and a greater reckoning); 11) "The example of those who have been eminent for contentation"; 12) "Whatever change of trouble a child of God meets with, it is all the hell he shall have"; 13) "To have competency, and to want contentment, is a great judgement".
