Rumble Strips

The work of the prophet functioned like rumble strips. They were to be an alarm, and their hope was to frighten and startle the people awake so that they would turn from their sin and avoid destruction. Hosea 6-7 shows a form of repentance in the people, as if they are turning back to the LORD, but in truth they are not…and Hosea will continue to warn them about the consequences of breaking the covenant with God.
