Nowhere For Mercy To Land

Aim: To be true recipients of divine mercy.

Doctrine: God forgives repentant sinners. He preserves whole cultures for one saint, and He restores whole lives through Christ's atonement.

Exegesis: How to ''frustrate'' the mercy of God: have an insincere ''biblical'' religion (vv. 1-2), have stiff neck (v. 3), and have a rebellious heart (vv. 4-6).

Further application: How to experience the mercy of God: hear God's word with a contrite heart, and practice Christ's gospel with a loving heart.

Key verse: v. 1 ''Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem; see now and know; and seek in her open places if you can find a man, if there is anyone who executes judgment, who seeks the truth, and I will pardon her.''
