Our Lord in the Depths

We cannot go to the cross too often. We cannot begin to measure or understand the Lord's descent to human degradation when we cannot understand the height from which He came. We look at Christ's whole life and the humiliation he suffered. Jesus, the scapegoat delighted in prayer and embraced death. In this world, some die for those they love but our Lord died for those who hated Him.

We also look at what it means by the joy that was set before Him. Being reunited with the Father was part of this joy but it was also the joy of knowing He has redeemed His elect. May we live for Him and boast only in Him.
