God is My Salvation - Message 85 - Preach Good News - Isaiah 61:1-6. Christ is appointed to carry out the work of salvation and judgment, having been anointed by the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord and sent to preach good news to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, proclaim freedom to the indebted and enslaved, and to thoroughly transform His people, giving them a new name and status. Christ used these verses to inaugurate His public ministry, reading these verses from Isaiah in the synagogue at Nazareth, and saying, "Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."
