The Perfect Father

Is there such a thing as a 'Perfect Father'? In scouring the internet, no one claims to be a perfect father. A quick scan of the human fathers in the Bible reveals that all of them were flawed. Very few of them would be classified as 'great'; none of them perfect. But there is ONE! Jesus introduces us to His Father for He says in Matthew 5:48. 'You shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.' We have a perfect heavenly Father. As the perfect Father, He protects His own. He provides for us for He knows what we have need of before we even ask Him. As the perfect Father, He promotes by affirming His love and approval of us. And as the perfect Father, He pardons our sins and restores fellowship with Him. As human fathers, we too should seek to protect, to provide, to promote, and to pardon our children, thus to be 'just like our Father in heaven'.
