Standing, looking up at the tall, closed gates, Ignorance is confused. He doesn't see the issue. He has lived a good life, he has certainly entertained the idea of religion, he has even raised some very good arguments for his form of spirituality. Now, at the time when it really matters, the men in charge of the gate have an issue with letting him in.
Just as Ignorance couldn't understand the issue as he arrived at the gate, so also, many people sit and listen to the preacher of the gospel today, wondering what the big issue is.
