Forgive As You Have Been Forgiven

61

Pastor Tim Goad continues his exhortation on this passage of scripture, going through the 17 commands given by Paul here, expounding on the next two, that of bearing with one another- actually putting up with one another despite our differences, foibles, characteristics - and forgiveness- specifically in like manner in which GOD in CHRIST has forgiven us, even while we were completely unforgiveable, in the very same quality and quantity GOD has done to and for us. Forgiveness here is also described as a gift, as in GOD gift of grace to wretched sinners, so we ought to bestow the very same. But not only to others, as this is spoken of corporately here to, but of forgiveness of self. GOD, upon salvation/regeneration, has forgiven us entirely, so must we ourselves. Forgiveness is the outworking of the love of CHRIST that pours out of a heart of flesh given to us upon the work of regeneration by the HOLY SPIRIT in salvation stemming from the perfect, definite, efficient work of atonement on the cross, that took place before the foundations of the world, in eternity past, by GOD's grace for our good and HIS glory alone.
