John 7:14-24

The Son Has The Father's Authority
We must submit to Jesus Christ because He has the Father's authority.
His teaching comes from the Father (14-18)
His learning comes without studying (15)
His teaching is His who sent Him (16)
His teaching is known only if we are willing to do God's will (17)
His teaching is true because He seeks the glory of the Father (18)
His enemies refuse to see that He fulfills Mosaic law (19-24)
They do not formally keep the law of Moses (19-20)
They are trying to kill Him (19b-20)
They circumcise on the Sabbath (21-22)
They accuse Jesus of breaking the Sabbath by healing (23)
They are not to judge by appearances, but with right judgment (24)
Applications:
We need to bow the knee to Jesus today—He has the Father's authority and He is Lord of the Sabbath!
We need to judge things not by their appearance, but by what lies behind them—using God's standard of righteous judgment!
