Because Thou Didst It (Part 2)

Does our faith go beyond what our senses tell us, to "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen"? Do we truly believe, and act like we believe, Romans 8:28?

True faith is foreign to the carnal mind; it is a contrary and alien virtue to the lost person. It is a gift of God, and must be exercised by grace.

How much do we truly believe or know? Do we have hope or confidence in God? This faith is what constitutes our Christian life. It is how we receive Christ, and how we walk the Christian life afterwards, until we get to glory and have our faith end in sight.

David, the sweet psalmist of Israel, did not understand this walking by faith entirely until he was brought through the refiner's fire. When this happened, he closed his mouth, he did not murmur or complain, because God had done it.
