Healing the Man Born Blind

477

Jesus Christ heals a man who was born blind. Our Lord demonstrates that He is the Light of the World, giving both physical sight to a blind man and giving spiritual sight to the spritually blind. He gives light and life to the depraved sinner. He regenerates the spiritually dead.

Pastor Linehan explains, from this passage and from John chapter five, that our hardships in life are sometimes a direct result of our own sins and sometimes not. Sometimes, in God's providence, we experience difficulty, disease or death simply to establish an arena to display the mercy and glory of God.

Christ is a compassionate, merciful Savior. Let us remember that our adversities provide a stage to bring glory to God. This event of the healing of the blind man also shows us of the necessity of faith and obedience. This passge reminds of us of the deity and power of Christ to give us light and eternal life.
