God Wept and Raised the Dead

The difference between the followers and rejecters of Jesus in John's Gospel is not their level of understanding, but their faith. In this chapter of John neither His disciples, nor Martha, Mary or the crowd understand Jesus' words, purpose and timing. But they believe who He is.

When we go through times of suffering and trial we often find ourselves asking the question 'why?' instead of 'who?'.

'Why?' can leave us in despair, hopeless, discouraged and lost.
'who?' can leave us trusting, resting, hopeful in the good character of God.

Jesus really does care for His people and suffers their suffering with them.
