Who's Running the Show?

The Hollywood Reporter once posited that there are more showrunners in Los Angeles than taco trucks. The sudden growth of scripted television series has resulted in the burgeoning numbers of showrunners – a position that takes charge of every aspect of the creative and business part of the show. One top executive said, “...at the end of the day, somebody’s got to have the final word, and the showrunner’s the final word.”

What about our lives, this world and all of history – who is in charge and who has the last say?
